We have an excellent opportunity for a numerate, articulate and experienced Accounts Senior to take up a position within our Kendal office.

As part of this role, you will undertake accounting and corporation tax
computations whilst working on a wide range of client businesses. The principle
duties of this role will include:
- Preparation of Accounts for Sole Traders and
Partnerships along with the business tax computations and Self-Assessment
returns.
- Preparation of Management Accounts and VAT
Returns.
- Completion of assignments to deadlines reporting
either directly to senior manager or partner.
- Highlighting issues which the senior manager
or partner need to discuss with the client.
- Planning own and others time to maximum
efficiency.
- Giving clear and unambiguous instructions to
staff on assignments.
- Ensuring staff are suitably trained and
supervised for assignments providing them with feedback at the end of the
assignment.

Identify when staff members may need support,
provide support and refer issues where appropriate to relevant line manager.
The successful applicant will need to have:
- Recent experience
of working in practice
- Strong analytical
skills
- Up to date
technical knowledge of Financial Reporting Standards

A sound understanding
of accounting principles

An ability to use
excel and word
- Effective communication
skills, including feedback/coaching, supervisory skills
- The ability to
communicate with and report directly to partners or senior member of staff
- Attention to
detail
- Ability to work
well within a team and on their own

Good knowledge of
Corporate and Personal tax
To be successful in this role, you will need to be confident, have
well-developed interpersonal skills and be prepared to work hard. A minimum
of 3 years’ experience as an accounts senior, ability to demonstrate career progression
and employer loyalty, awareness of the firm and what we offer, knowledge of
QuickBooks. Ideally be qualified
ACA/ACCA or by experience and have experience of a client manager role would be
desirable, but not essential.
