Supporting our Corporate Services team to deliver a quality service to a range of clients, the principal duties of this role include:

  • Looking after a range of non-audit clients with responsibility for completing assignments for partner/director review and highlighting issues for discussion with the client   
  • Maintaining credible and long term client relationships through regular contact         
  • Co-ordinating compliance service delivery to clients and timetabling work wherever possible to suit the needs of the client      
  • Ensuring that jobs are adequately resourced, giving due regard to staff continuity where possible         
  • Planning your own and others’ time to maximum efficiency       
  • Giving clear and unambiguous instructions to staff on assignments        
  • Ensuring staff are suitably trained and supervised for assignments providing them with feedback at the end of the assignment       
  • Identifying when staff members may need support, provide support and refer issues where appropriate to relevant line manager      
  • Reviewing work in progress, debtors and fee budgets on a monthly basis, reporting any variances from target to the relevant partner/director  
  • Ensuring partners/directors are fully briefed well in advance of key meetings and presentations        
  • Liaising with staff in other departments where applicable to provide holistic solutions based client service   
  • Contributing as a team player and responsibility for developing other staff members    
  • Communicating the firm’s values and objectives both externally and internally in a positive and motivational manner 
To be considered for this position, applicants will need to have:
  • The ACA/ACCA (or equivalent) qualification or be qualified by experience        
  • Recent experience of working in practice and managing a portfolio of non-audit clients       
  • Technical competence and compliance including experience of preparing/reviewing FRS 102 accounts 
  • Strong analytical skills        
  • Up to date technical knowledge of Financial Reporting Standards       
  • The ability to produce realistic projections and comment on draft projections versus historic accounts    
  • The ability to use Excel and Word         
  • Effective communication skills, including feedback/coaching, supervisory skills      
  • The ability to communicate with and report directly to partners or senior members of staff       
  • Good attention to detail       
  • The ability to work well within a team and on their own      
  • Good knowledge of corporate and personal tax 
Desirable skills include: 
  • At least 2 years post qualified with experience of managing non-audit clients       
  • Use of CCH Accounts Production software and paperless audit software 
  • The ability to demonstrate career progression and employer loyalty
