The Role (Key Responsibilities)

 

Supporting our Corporate Services team to deliver a quality service to a range of clients, the principal duties of this role will be to plan, prepare and undertake accounts assignments for manager/partner review.

 

The key responsibilities of the role will include:  

• Preparing annual accounts and management accounts for sole traders, partnerships, limited companies and LLP’s.

• Producing planning documents and draft fee budgets.

• Preparing draft tax computations alongside the accounts work.

• Completing internal audit work and drafting reports.

• Liaising with clients in a confident and professional manner.

• Anticipating variances from the budget and communicating this to managers in a timely manner.

• Assisting junior staff where appropriate.

• Preparing draft VAT returns.

• Analysing data and producing accurate reports.

 

Experience, Skills and Qualifications required    

 

The successful applicant will need to be able to plan and prioritise their own workload, be able to communicate with clients and colleagues in a professional manner, and be a good team player, to ensure the team as a whole meets its objectives.  

 

To be considered for this position, applicants will need to possess the following:  

 

•Minimum of two years’ generalist experience in an accounts role, within practice.

• A minimum of 8 GCSE’s (or equivalent) which must include Grade B or above in Maths and English.

• Be A-Level (or equivalent) qualified, ideally in a business related subject.

• Ability to meet deadlines and be proactive.

• Attention to detail and accuracy of work

• Have an aptitude for figures and an interest in business and commerce.

• Good IT skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel.  

 

AAT qualified candidates will be prioritised.
