The Role

Joining MHA Moore & Smalley on our Apprenticeship programmes provides you with an excellent platform to develop a successful career in Accountancy, Audit or Tax. We have an enviable reputation for training, nurturing, and developing our students and offering unrivalled career development opportunities. Several of our existing Partners also joined us via this route at the beginning of their careers and now play a key role in ensuring MHA Moore & Smalley remain the advisor of choice to our broad portfolio of clients.

You will have the opportunity to work across multiple industries so that no two days are ever the same and along the way we'll provide you with the dedicated support and mentoring you'll need to work your way through your qualification.

The firm will sponsor you with a fully funded study package to undertake a 2 - 4 year training contract studying for either the Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) qualification or the Association of Tax Technicians (ATT) qualification- the first step to becoming a chartered accountant. This will include on-the-job training, exam tuition and practical skills courses, with support from a qualified student counsellor.

Supporting our Corporate and Business Services team to deliver a high-quality service to a range of clients, you will:

•  Learn how to prepare accounts and draft tax computations   
• Undertake accounting and tax assignments
• Work on a range of clients and businesses

Experience, Skills and Qualifications required

To be considered for this position, applicants will need to have: 

• A minimum of 5 GCSEs Grade A*- C (4-9) including Maths and English
• A minimum of 112 UCAS points at A Level, all gained in the same exam year and excluding General Studies, (based on the new 2017 UCAS tariff).
• Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle (or at least have evidence this is in process at time of application) 

Successful candidates will commence their role in August 2024
