Location: Preston based, with days at other MHA Moore & Smalley offices and travel to clients on a regular basis
Hours: Full time

Supporting the Professional Practices team within the Corporate department, the successful candidate will be expected to become an RI for the specialist audits and run a portfolio of clients as a relationship manager. The portfolio will include a variety of professional and general corporate clients. The successful candidate will work alongside other Preston Corporate Directors, Partners and team leaders to deliver outstanding client service and manage resources. This role will also include business development activities, completing ad hoc project work and being an ICAEW student counsellor.
The key responsibilities of this role include:
• To take responsibility for clients, generate fees and add to the department USP’s in terms of knowledge, skills and reputation
• To become an audit RI for statutory audit, SRA Accounts Rules audit, CLC audit, other client money audits and grant audit
• To lead, develop and motivate managers and teams, providing support and development through on the job coaching and appraisals
• To provide input to the partnership at a strategic level when required and develop a high level of technical expertise
• The ability to undertake projects and deliver commercial and added value service to clients with minimal supervision
• Developing own personal relationships with clients, using own network of contacts and relationships to develop business and perform an ambassadorial role for the firm
• Seeking opportunities to improve current processes, systems and methods to promote reliability, quality and efficiency of output
The required skills for this role include:
• ACA / ACCA qualification and external audit experience at a senior level
• Experience of recognising clients’ needs and delivering them in a manner which exceeds expectations
• Having the skills to efficiently and effectively lead or manage meetings to productive ends and to clearly communicate to staff at all levels both verbally and in written format
• Experience of directing and leading others to accomplish goals and objectives and developing and maintaining positive relationships
• The ability to uphold the values of the firm, maintain a high standard of fairness and ethics in everyday words and actions
• Advising, assisting, mentoring and providing feedback to others to encourage and inspire the development of work-related competencies and long-term career growth
• The ability to take action to support and implement change initiatives effectively and challenging/ encouraging the firm, themselves and others to excel and achieve
• The ability to make good decisions in a timely, confident and positive manner
• An understanding of general business and financial concepts
Desirable skills include:
• Experience of working with solicitors and other professional practices
• Experience of completing SRA Accounts Rules audit work
• Experience in preparing tax computations for limited companies, partnerships, individuals
• Familiar with both paper based and IT based auditing systems
• Awareness of key dates and filing deadlines
