It is expected that the individual will gradually develop their skills through a formulated action plan and with the ultimate aim of eventually taking on a full client portfolio. This will be achieved through means of job shadowing, coaching, on the job training and (in some instances) working on projects as directed by senior staff. The principal duties of this role include:
- To look after a range of payrolls and contribute to the firm’s aim to offer an accurate and quality service.
- To ensure that compliance deadlines are met.
- To co-ordinate compliance, service delivery and ensure that the information is collected in the most efficient manner, timetabling work wherever possible to suit the needs of the client.
- To ensure that clients receive notices from third party organisations in a timely manner.
- A variety of general payroll related administration tasks.
- To liaise with staff in other departments where applicable, to ensure a complete and prompt service for clients.
- To identify opportunities for providing other relevant services.
- To maintain accurate and up to date client records on CCH.
- To produce file notes of any client meetings or telephone calls and circulate, as appropriate, to other staff members responsible for the client.
- To bring any problems to the Team Leader’s attention immediately.
- To report any client dissatisfaction immediately via the Payroll Client Services module and/or the complaints procedure.
Candidates will also need to be a team player but have the ability to work on their own initiative and be able to manage their own workload, particularly when working under pressure.
To be considered for this role, applicants must have:
- Excellent numeracy skills.
- Good attention to detail.
- The ability to plan effective use of time and consistently meet deadlines.
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
- The ability to build relationships.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
- A positive outlook and able to deal with issues constructively.
- The initiative to ask for feedback on own performance and seeks out opportunities for development.
A knowledge of PAYE legislation would be advantageous.
