Supporting our Corporate Services team in Kendal to deliver a quality service to a range of clients, the principal duties of this role will be to plan, prepare and undertake accounts assignments for manager/partner review.
The key responsibilities of the role will include:
• Preparing annual accounts and management accounts for sole traders, partnerships, limited companies and LLP’s.
• Producing planning documents and draft fee budgets.
• Preparing draft tax computations alongside the accounts work
• Liaising with clients in a confident and professional manner
• Anticipating variances from the budget and communicating this to managers in a timely manner
• Assisting junior staff where appropriate.
• Preparing draft VAT returns.
• Analysing data and producing accurate reports.
The successful applicant will need to be able to plan and prioritise their own workload, be able to communicate with clients and colleagues in a professional manner, and be a good team player, to ensure the team as a whole meets its objectives.
To be considered for this position, applicants will need to possess the following:
• Minimum of 12 months' generalist experience in an accounts role, within practice.
• A minimum of 5 GCSE’s (or equivalent) grades A* to C, including Maths and English.
• Be A-Level (or equivalent) qualified, ideally in a business related subject.
• Ability to meet deadlines and be proactive.
• Attention to detail and accuracy of work.
• Have an aptitude for figures and an interest in business and commerce.
• Good IT skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
AAT qualified candidates will be prioritised.
