£14 - £16k per annum (negotiable/depending on skills/experience)

As part of this role, you will be responsible for keeping staff across the firm working effectively by responding promptly to support desk calls and upgrading hardware and software. Acting as the first point of contact for staff IT queries and providing support to the Computer Services department, the principal duties of this role include:

• Providing first line IT support by telephone, e-mail or face to face
• Logging IT support queries onto the support desk database
• Prioritising, co-ordinating and allocating IT support requests
• Providing ad-hoc support to the Computer Services team
• Commissioning new hardware from box to user deployment to specification with speed and accuracy
• Managing the safety and tidiness of the workshop area and IT stock management
• Deploying all application software upgrades
• Assisting with staff/office moves
• Monitoring basic system and network statistics and warnings
• Assisting with setting up meeting rooms with IT equipment

To succeed in this role, you will need to have a polite telephone manner, be approachable, professional and have an aptitude for learning new IT skills. You will also be a logical problem solver and have a flexible approach to your workload.

To be considered for this position, applicants will need to have:

• A-Levels grade A-C (or equivalent), including an A-Level qualification in a Computing or ICT subject
• Basic knowledge of PC hardware and architecture
• Familiarity with the Windows Desktop in a networked environment
• The ability to build friendly and effective relationships internally across all departments
• Excellent organisation skills
• Good communication skills (written and verbal)
• The ability to identify opportunities to improve/optimise internal processes and methods
• A full, clean valid UK driving licence (car not essential)

Priority will be given to applicants with knowledge of Ethernet basics, Mimecast traffic and iOS/Andriod products, however this is not essential.
