What are we looking for? –
The Role
Key responsibilities:
· Prepare corporation tax computations and returns
· Prepare tax disclosures for accounts
· Provide corporate tax support to non-tax colleagues
· Advise clients on corporate tax payments
· Submit corporate tax returns
· Assist on larger tax projects such as capital allowances claims, Research and Development and Patent Box claims
· Support with HMRC enquiries
Experience, Skills and Qualifications required
Essential Skills:
· Solid grounding in corporation tax, ability to prepare CT computations for SMEs including groups.
· Sound grasp of tax administration (filing, penalties, enquiry rules).
· Understanding of company accounts.
· Ability to extract relevant information from client data.
· Team player
· Excellent oral and written communication
· Excellent numeracy
· Multi-tasking
· Keen to develop and share technical knowledge with colleagues
· Time management and personal organisation skills
· Strong IT skills, including tax software and Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams
Desirable Attributes:
· Awareness of personal income tax issues relating to income from companies.
· Commercial awareness
· Awareness of advanced corporation tax issues, e.g. corporate interest restriction, transfer pricing, double tax relief.
· Experience of Tax geared Incentive schemes, including R&D and Patent Box
Person specification: At least two year’s experience in preparing corporation tax computations.
